Human Resource Managers plan, organise, direct, control and coordinate the human resource and workplace relations activities within organisations. This includes activities associated with staff recruitment and selection, training and development, conditions of employment and other staffing issues within an organisation.

This is a growing industry that has seen employment figures rise very strongly over the past ten years. Over the next five years there is expected to be 25,000-50,000 job openings for Human Resources Managers.

Human Resource Managers work within a wide variety of businesses including public administration and safety, the private sector, financial and insurance services and administrative and support Services. Long term there are opportunities for HR professionals to specialise and do consulting and/or freelancing work. Generally HR roles are based in office environments but at times travel to other sites to inspect operations and manage staff.

This is a rewarding industry where the average salary is $2,031 per week for full time employees.

We provide a one year membership to the Australian Human Resources Institute to assist you in becoming an industry professional.
